Hawk's Agro

Agronomist

Hawks Agro, a JGL company, is a proud locally owned and operated independent agriculture retailer, based in seven locations throughout South Western Saskatchewan (Central Butte, Rouleau, Swift Current, Neville, Gravelbourg, Strongfield and Moose Jaw).   We are currently looking for an Agronomist to join our Crop360 team.   This position can be based out of any one of our locations.  The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of the agriculture industry.  This position will have primary contact with growers to promote and advise on a vast variety of products and services that are provided by our company.

Crop 360 is our full service agronomy, product trialling and soil sampling service working with growers across Hawk’s Agro trade area.  As an Agronomist at Crop 360 you will build relationships and work directly with individual farm customers to maximize their business operations and assist them with their agronomic decisions.

Hawk’s Agro provides crop input services along with in crop production service which includes: crop protection and fertilizer sales, fertilizer blending, and agronomy services.

Requirements

for this position include:

  • Proven experience in a customer service or sales capacity
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of field and industry experience
  • Ability to interpret soil, tissue and seed tests
  • Understand the proper method for soil or tissue testing for customers
  • Knowledge of local weed species, and familiarity with the biology and control of local pests
  • Eligible for membership in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists
  • CCA accreditation or willingness to challenge exams and obtain accreditation when eligible
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Technically sound agronomy knowledge
  • Possess a valid drivers license
