Crop Nutrition Terminal Manager – Belle Plaine

Hawk’s Agro is seeking a results-driven, hands-on Crop Nutrition Terminal Manager to lead the operations of our brand-new high throughput terminal in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan. This key leadership role oversees all aspects of terminal performance, from product handling and blending operations to equipment maintenance, logistics, and team development, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and product quality. Key Responsibilities

Terminal Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of our new Belle Plaine Crop Nutrition Terminal, including product blending, storage, inbound and outbound logistics, and shipping coordination.
  • Build, scale, and develop a high-performing terminal team for this new facility, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Lead, train, and schedule terminal employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure all blending and handling activities meet performance standards for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain operational readiness by monitoring equipment functionality, inventory accuracy, and product integrity.
  • Build and maintain open communication with the Director of Crop Nutrition, logistics partners, and internal teams to align operations with company goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and reduce costs while maintaining service excellence.

 

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for all terminal equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
  • Conduct regular inspections and coordinate maintenance or repair work in a timely manner to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Supervise contractors and service providers, ensuring all maintenance and project work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and certifications.

 

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote and reinforce a safety-first culture through daily toolbox talks, regular safety meetings, and proactive hazard identification.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, including reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Uphold the highest standards of product quality, ensuring clean, contamination-free blending, handling, and shipments.
  • Act as a safety leader by modeling safe work practices, monitoring compliance, and ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.

 

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Oversee all product movement, weigh-overs, and audit processes to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Monitor and manage fertilizer and chemical inventory levels to maintain adequate supply and minimize shrink.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all inbound and outbound products.
  • Manage operational supplies such as lubricants, packaging, and maintenance materials to ensure readiness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to optimize product flow and scheduling based on seasonal demand and customer needs.

Agronomist - Any Hawk's Agro Location

Are you passionate about crop production and precision agriculture? Do you thrive on building trusted relationships with growers and offering technical solutions that make a real impact on the farm? This role can be based out of any of Hawk’s Agro’s seven retail locations in Saskatchewan (Central Butte, Rouleau, Swift Current, Neville, Gravelbourg, Strongfield, or Moose Jaw) and is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving agronomic challenges, and working alongside a supportive retail and agronomy team.

About Crop 360

Crop 360, a division of Hawk’s Agro and part of the JGL group of companies, is a full-service agronomy, soil sampling, and product trialing network that works hands-on with growers across Southwestern Saskatchewan. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely and accurate agronomic advice through field scouting, test interpretation, and diagnostics

Key Responsibilities

Analytics and Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and analyze operational, financial, and market data across JGL’s integrated business units, including commodities, livestock, financial services, and ag retail and agronomy.

What You Bring

  • High proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization tools; experience with SQL, ERP platforms, or advanced analytics tools is a significant asset.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario-building capabilities.
